About Traveling from Virginia Beach to New York

Traveling from Virginia Beach to New York...?
So, I'm planning a trip from my home in Virginia Beach, Virginia to New York City. I'm trying to figure out the most cost effective way of travel from here to there. Flying is the most expensive, so out of the question. I've narrowed it down to train, greyhound bus or driving. I think i'd like to drive seeing as our hotel as free parking, and just park the car at the hotel and use public transpiration the whole time there. Would it be cheaper to take a train or bus, when you factor in tolls and whatnot while driving?

Take the drive. There's plenty to see along the way! Personally I'd recommend going up US 13 instead of 95 etc. You will see more and enjoy the drive. I used to run between Norfolk / Little Creek and Philly 3 times a month. Sure you have to pay tolls on the Bay bridge tunnel but you can avoid the rest until you get to NY by reading the map carefully. Check the best routes through mapquest
