The answer is zero and zero. It's the best answer! Head out of Baton Rouge on the 12/10, at Mobile pick up the 65 which splits at Montgomery. Take the 85 through Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Shortly after crossing the Virginia state line take US 58 east all the way to Norfolk. When you get to Norfolk you're almost there. US 58 runs into I-664. You're only on the 664 for a mile or two. Drift over to the inside lanes. They become I-264 and goes through the center of Norfolk the downtown tunnel and deadends on Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach. Now if you don't quite get over to the inside lanes on 664, no problem. The outside lanes become I-64 and goes around the south side of Norfolk. It crosses I-264 on the east side of town. Just keep your eyes open for 'I-264 east - Virginia Beach', then you're back on track. NO TOLLS! Fastest route. Have a great trip

I am traveling to the Williamsburg/Virginia Beach/ Chesapeake Bay area this weekend for a week. I'd like to go some places and eat some places that the locals go to. This is a once in a lifetime experience, and I'd like to spend it as though I've lived there for years. williamsburg is not that close to vb but anyways. restaurants- il giardino at vb oceanfront is really upscale/pricy but really good. guadalajara (different locations in vb/norfolk) has excellent mexican food. doc taylors at vb oceanfront is the best for breakfast. check out macarthur mall in norfolk, it has a lot of good stores as well as the williamsburg outlets

About Im going to Virginia beach any options
Im going to Virginia beach any options?
My family and I are planning a trip to virginia beach and we have no clue what there as to offer. None of my friends know and neither do I. Ive been there be4 but I was wayy to yooung to remember. We are traveling with two kids one 13 and the other 8. ANy fun things for them to do? I'd also like to know of any good hotels and places to eat thanx!

Not too far away is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, I think the bridge is like 23 miles long and it consists of bridges and tunnels. It is really cool. And there is also an aquarium in VA Beach.

Would anybody have a nice hotel recommendation on Virginia Beach? Preferably beach front?
I'm looking to book a beach front hotel next month and going on travel websites has overwhelmed me with information and mixed reviews. Anybody have a decent, moderately priced hotel/room that they would recommend? Perhaps even a quaint bed and breakfast or something? Thank you so much!

We have reservations for Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront located on the Boardwalk and 19th Street. All rooms have oceanfront view, and come with WiFi, continental breakfast and parking for one vehicle. My wife in all honesty wanted to stay at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront because their rooftop swimming pool supposedly offers the most spectacular unrivaled view of the oceanfront...however their website says the pool is currently closed for renovation. I'll need all advice and tips on traveling to and staying in Virginia Beach?
I'll be taking a 3 or 4 day trip to Virginia Beach with my best friend at the end of July. I need any and all information and experiences you know about Virginia Beach. Where to stay (we really want to be right on the beach and know we are poor college students so the most afforable is highly needed!) And also where to go for all the nightlife and restaurants. Maybe even some helpful hints on where and how to find afforable flights? I want this trip to be amazing so all information is appreciated! I will be traveling to Virginia Beach next week, but only for the day and I would like to take a shower after coming off the beach. Does anyone know of any public or pay shower facilities in Virginia Beach or close by?

Where can I camp on the beach in/near Virginia Beach?

We are traveling in a Land Cruiser, and I'd love to back that right up to the water and sleep in the back. But if that's not a possibility, I'd at least like to pop the tent up on the beach itself. Most sites I see are only "close" to the beach. I'm looking for ON the beach.

Is VIRGINIA BEACH a good vacation spot to travel 10 hours for?
My family and I are planning to go to the beach this summer. We are really excited because its the first beach vacation for us in a long time! We have a preschooler and a 15 month old and want to go in June. I was wondering what was great about VIRGINA BEACH and what activities for lil kids besides the beach :) Btw are there SEASHELLS at VB coz I always imagine my kids picking up sea shells and saving them in a clear container for a forever reminder of our vacation! Thanks so much!!

hmm? it's ok.. I guess -- I didnt see really any sea shells -- I went this past summer -- my son found trash in the water -- it could be the area we were at -- the people were odd -- i went into the water and didnt realize the tide was coming in so it got my bag wet -- there were 5 people in front of my bag and they did nothing -- then when i saw the same thing happening to someone else -- it was beach chairs, though -- they acted like i was trying to steal something -- we were at the beach in front Catch 31 -- that area right there .. there were no sea shells--and the water was trashy. Try goolge maps and it will show you what it the area looks like.

The kids can enjoy whale watching. There are also horseback riding activities that you can do while the kids watch enjoy watching you. Of course you can enjoy swimming and playing in the cool waters of Virginia Beach
